At Pamoja Education Limited (“Pamoja” or “we”), we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people who engage with our online courses and services.
Our approach is guided by the UK statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education (“KCSIE”) and Working Together to Safeguard Children, issued by the Department for Education (“DfE”). These set out the national standards for safeguarding and child protection in schools and education settings in England. While these are UK frameworks, we apply their principles across all our operations worldwide, and we expect all staff, tutors, contractors, and partners to uphold these safeguarding standards in their work with Pamoja.
Our Safeguarding Policy sets out how we prevent, identify and respond to concerns about the safety and welfare of children and young people.
Our responsibilities
We have robust policies and procedures in place to:
- Create a safe online learning environment
- Prevent and respond to safeguarding concerns, including online safety issues
- Ensure all staff complete regular safeguarding and data protection training
- Ensure all staff undergo enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (“DBS”) checks, or local equivalent, before working with students
- Report all safeguarding concerns promptly to our Designated Safeguarding Lead (“DSL”), who will assess the situation to ensure the student’s safety and wellbeing
All safeguarding concerns are handled sensitively and in line with statutory requirements.
Young people using our platform
Our Safeguarding Policy applies to all learners under the age of 18, and to vulnerable adults using our platform. We are committed to protecting students’ personal data as part of keeping them safe online. For full details of how we collect, use and protect personal information, please see our Global Privacy Notice.
