As the exam period closes and the summer break begins for many schools, we have a few updates to share with you including curriculum changes and reviews, as well as some important refinements to the Pamoja Online Course experience within ManageBac.
Here is a summary of the key updates and upcoming news for Pamoja Online Courses:
As many of you know, as of September 2022, ITGS will be replaced with Digital Society to reflect the current digital revolution we are experiencing around the world:
“We are in a digital revolution that is changing the way people communicate, create and connect. Digital Society invites students and teachers to work together to explore the challenges and changes faced today in technology, media, ethics and policy through conceptual and contextual lenses.” International Baccalaureate Organization, 2022
We are pleased to announce Pamoja will be offering Digital Society SL and Digital Society HL this September for first assessment in 2024. All our courses are curriculum-aligned and created by experienced and knowledgeable IB educators. We are now taking course requests for September 2022 teaching. Please register your students via your ManageBac Plan Worksheet or if you would like to speak to a member of our team, please get in touch.
Course Registration Improvements
After much improvement to the Course Request Workflow, for our last update, all Pamoja Online Courses can be requested through your students’ Plan Worksheets via their ManageBac account, including Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay. Manage the entire process easily from within your ManageBac > Plans section.
Together with global improvements to the IB Diploma Plan Worksheet, you can easily add all Pamoja Online Courses for your students and track the Course Request status individually.
Improved Report Collection
All student reports, including Term Grade Reports, Engagement Rating Reports, Semester Reports, are available in PDF form under each student’s academic profile in your SBC Pamoja ManageBac account and in your school’s Managebac account; saving you administration time.
Upcoming News
Business Management
Our Business Management courses are in the process of being updated to reflect the IB’s curriculum review, ready for first teaching this September, with first assessment in 2024.
Pamoja Home
Pamoja Home is a space dedicated to Pamoja Online Courses for Site-based Coordinators. Pamoja Home will provide useful resources to better support your role as an SBC, including a monthly calendar holding all helpful information you need for each month; video solutions to help you and your students navigate our Online Courses and ManageBac; and webinars presented by our Academic, School Services Team, supported by our SBC Ambassadors. The improved Pamoja Home will be available from the first week of June; you can find Pamoja Home at the bottom of your left navigation menu.
Improved SBC Dashboard
The new dashboard user interface will be aligned with the Task & Deadlines view. Firstly, we will implement the Overall Task Completion view to allow teachers and SBCs to view the task summaries of their students alongside teacher comments displayed under the task tiles, allowing better oversight of their students’ work. Term Average and Final Grades will be displayed at the class header on the right-hand side.
Stay tuned for further updates!
